Session – this is a name of period which we have at our university. It’s a time of examination and reviews of our work. As I am sort of lazy, I left all of the composition work for the last four days. That was real fun:D Worked by night, and slept at day. Somehow that was less tyring, don’t know why. Anyway, i made everything that i needed, and had two hours to spare These are the works and some “in progress” shots:

Recently i went to my capital Vilnius, to see what are the students of VDA up to. While being there, i had an opportunity to meet with Seniuunas, who gives me all kind of work to do, and who asked me to work on the project for vitamin company “Gamtos namai”. I had to make a design, which i posted earlier. Well, i found out one funny thing They have discontinued the product line, and that design will never see the daylight… Anyway, had some fun making it.

Recently i was making a new web design for company called “Gamtos Namai”, which sells vitamins. I was asked to make a cool, refreshing design for their new product vitamins “Restart”. So i came up with this:

The only downside of this project is, that i won’t be writing the HTML or CSS code for it. And that is actually strange, because i mainly write HTML, CSS, and don’t make web designs. I’m not really educated for that

Windows 7 bootable USB flash drive

Recently i decided to install windows 7 on my Acer Aspire One netbook. Because there is no internal dvd drive, i had to make a bootable usb flash drive for windows 7 installation files. While searching on the Google i found this helpful tutorial on how to make a bootable USB flash drive. But there were few little problems. First of all the formating program doest work on Windows 7, you have to use the native software. Just go to My computer, press right button on the USB flash drive icon, and then format. Chose fat32 and you are pretty much done for that. Next problem was the BootSect.exe . Apparently for it to run, and make some changes in your USB flash, it has to run as Administrator. So you need to open the start menu, in the search box write cmd, when the cmd.exe will appear. Press right mouse button on it, and run it as Administrator. Then you need to use different CD command than suggested in the link i pasted before. You have to write “cd c:\Users\(your user)\Desktop\bootsect” and then run BootSect.exe . Everything else is on the link pasted before. Good luck!

Not so long ago i decided to buy a cheap GPS reciever. Well i guess it paid of, atleast if you use it for a car, rather than for hiking, because the battery is not that good.. Anyway, it took me a while to get good, new software for it, so i guess i can share how to do it for this item from DealExtreme, and i think for similar ones. This is the Item.

Software: it come with IGo 2006 by default, but there are not many new maps for it, so you need to get a newer software. I tried TomTom, had no luck with it, actually had no luck with getting maps, the software runs, but I really didn’t like the interface. People have reported success with this software:

as stated by this Post. But there are no guidelines how to install it. Well i tried IGo, and had some success. IGo8 runs fine, but there are some problems with maps, and not all of the versions runs. IGo8.3 or any subversion is unusable. And AmIGo8.4 runs just fine. So i stuck with it. This helped A lot.

So how to install it? First you need to download it. You can use torrents or grab it from the link posted before. Secondly you need to get to WinCE mode , follow the instructions on this site. After you get in WinCe mode turn of the device and take out the card. Place it in the card reader (It will be much faster than connecting it with usb cable). Get to the root directory of the SD card. Copy all the files of AmIGo. In the main folder of AmIGo there should be a file called AMIGO.EXE , run it and it should work. Maps can be downloaded from torrents , or can be found on forums. That is not very hard to find.

Yes! It was kind of successful. The taste is really not bad, it looks good, but unfortunately it is strong. And not 6% or 7% strong, its more like 8% or 9% percent of alcohol:D Next time it will be much better, because now we know how to do it. Also we are going to try to make Wheat beer. I wish it would taste like “Erdinger” or “Švyturio Baltas”… Here are a few photos of the beer:

It seems like the economic crisis in my country (Lithuania) is starting to fade and gives us new opportunities. I assume this, because recently I had a proposal to design and write html, css for a new website. Proposal came from my good friend who owns this company http://aksprendimai.lt/ . It has been a long time since i got any offer to work for them, because of the crises. But i guess things are starting to change around here .

So i had to make a new website for company called”Banelituras”. The old website can still be reached by this address http://www.banelituras.lt/ . First thing i had to deal with, while making a design, was the logo that they made , i guess, themselves, because it looks… just look by yourself:D

Well I am not an educated designer, but in my opinion this is not the best logo that they could have. But anyhow, something had to be done. All of the drafts can be found here. I think in a few days the final version will replace the old website. Too bad that it doesn’t look that good, but the customer is always right, as some say…

New web page

Despite the economic crisis, i had an offer to make a web page for bankruptcy administrator Rimvydas Siutilas. Because i had nothing else good to do at the time, i had started to make a design immediately. It took me a few hours to produce this:

and after some time came this: (don’t mind the “Ubuntu” logo, it is just for the general view, and because i had no other. Also it looks good, and the logo itself is genius.)

Waiting for further development, html coding. Still have to clarify some stuff with client.

Beer making

After seeing documentary called “Beer Wars” i have decided that it should be pretty easy to make my own beer by my self. As i found out, it is easy:D. You just have to have good equipment, and right materials. It takes one day to brew it, one day to barken it, and then wait from 15 to 30 days until it gets the right taste. As it turns outs, it is also cheaper than buying beer from shop, and the taste is even better.

We didn’t have stainless steel pot, so we used aluminium one. It’s not as good as stainless, but at least it was a correct size for us.

This is our filtrating mechanism

Beer poured into the bucket to cool down, and then ferment.

Don’t expect it is a short process, it took us whole 9 hours till we finished, and left the beer to cool down to room temperature, to get ready for fermenting.
